Laguna Resources is focused on the exploration and development of high-quality gold projects in the world-class Maricunga Gold Belt of Northern Chile, in particular, the Arqueros gold-silver deposit.
The Company is listed on the Australian Stock Exchange (ASX : LRC) and based in Perth, Western Australia. It has a capable management team in Santiago and an experienced exploration group working out of its operational base in Copiapo in the Atacama Region of Chile.
Strategy
- The goal of Laguna Resources is to create a sustainable exploration and development business focused on mineral resource opportunities in Chile, with the objective of generating significant shareholder returns within the current commodity cycle.
- The strategy involves the acquisition, funding and focused development of high quality gold projects in the Maricunga Gold Belt and elsewhere in Chile.
- The immediate business objective is to prove up a two million ounces resource of gold equivalent mineralisation at the Arqueros Gold Project, and position it for the fast track to mining.
- The longer term business objective is to explore and develop the next generation of gold projects with the Cachitos Gold Project secured in the Southern Maricunga.
Arqueros Gold Project
Arqueros (pronounced “Arkeros”) is the key property in a large high sulphidation epithermal system known as Esperanza in La Coipa sector of the Maricunga District of Northern Chile. It has proven gold and silver mineralisation, with exploration targeting two million ounces of gold equivalent to support the development and production in excess of 100,000 of gold equivalent ounces per year. Laguna Resources has an option sales agreement to acquire 100% of the project.
