Mr Gavin Thomas
Chairman
Mr Thomas has had a successful career in developing mining companies from the exploration phase into mid-tier gold and/or copper production entities. He has over 37 years of international experience in exploring for, evaluating, developing, operating and reclaiming mines in North and South America, Australia, the Southwest Pacific, Asia and Europe. Amongst his credits is the discovery of "Lihir" in Papua New Guinea, one of the largest gold deposits in the world. In particular, he has extensive experience in Thailand and South America.
Mr Thomas was appointed to the Laguna Board on 8 December 2010. He is currently Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Kingsgate Consolidated Limited, and a director of Mercator Minerals Limited. He is a Fellow of the AusIMM.
Dr Nick Lindsay
Managing Director
Dr Lindsay has extensive experience in the global mining industry, with focus on the technical and commercial assessment and development of business opportunities in various commodities including gold, copper, zinc and iron ore in Australia, Former Soviet Union, Mongolia, South Africa and South America (Chile, Peru and Argentina). He has worked in both the major and junior mining sectors, and as an Independent Consultant based in Chile, a country with which he has a long association. He has a BSc Honours degree in Geology and an MBA from the University of Otago (New Zealand) and a PhD from the University of the Witwatersrand (South Africa). Dr Lindsay is a member of the AusIMM.
Mr Jonathan Murray
Non Executive Director
Mr Murray has practiced as a corporate lawyer since 1996 and is a partner with a boutique Perth-based firm. In this capacity he has advised numerous public companies on a range of corporate transactions including all forms of capital raising, takeovers, mergers and commercial compliance generally. He holds degrees of Bachelor of Laws and Commerce (Accounting) and is a member of FINSIA.
Mr Ross A Coyle
Company Secretary
Mr Coyle (BA, FCPA, FCIS), a qualified accountant, has over 30 years experience in finance and accounting within the resources industry. He was previously Company Secretary and Finance Director of Dominion Mining Limited. As well as Company Secretary for Laguna Resources NL he holds the position of General Manager Finance and Administration for Kingsgate Consolidated Limited.
